Born and raised in eastern Nebraska, Judith spent her early adult years ranching, painting and raising two sons. After a bold move to Albuquerque, she earned a BFA in Studio Art and a BAFA in Native American Art History in 1988 from the University of New Mexico. Her love of powwow and rodeo eventually led her to the Northwest where she met and married a Colville Tribal member and had another son.
Throughout her 35-year professional art career, she has received numerous awards from local, regional and national shows and her work is a part of various national and international private art collections. Today she still lives and works on the Colville Confederated Tribal Reservation in Washington State. She paints the life and the people she sees around her everyday and has never lost her sense of wonder at it and them.
